2020 – Blackdown Hill Challenge

The challenge is a trail run through woodland rising some 657ft to the top of Blackdown, the highest point in Sussex and South Downs National Park.

About this Event

The Blackdown Hill Challenge is 5 mile trail run climbing 657ft from Fernhurst Recreation Ground to the top of Blackdown, the highest point in both Sussex and South Downs National Park.

The run is open to individuals and teams.

The annual event is being held in support of Pavilion2022, the village project to build a new sports pavilion in Fernhurst.

There are limited places for the run, entry on the day will only be possible if the field is not full.

Online entry closes at 6pm on 4th April.

How do I enter a team?

Email the Race Director your team name and the names of the 4 in the team.

As runners may be injured or unable to run on the day, it will be possible to make changes at Registration.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes, minimum age for the run is 14 years.

What will the facilities be?

Showers and changing rooms, refreshments (cafe and bar),

Parking will be in the car park, on the road and playing field.

Will it be possible to enter on the day?

Yes, but be aware that the cost will be £25.

What’s the refund policy?

No refunds, this event is for charity (No.305368), supporting the project (Pavilion2022) to build a new sports pavilion in for the village.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Ideally yes, although it will be acceptable to see it on your phone.

It is required at registration to collect your vest number.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferable?

No.
