Looking forward to 2023

It was the busiest weekend of the summer for FCC with 11 scheduled matches (sadly some were conceded by the opposition).

Pictures are from the Sunday when, following junior games in the morning, the Fernhurst Flames had two matches against Chiddingfold on the ‘lower pitch’ – both wins – while the Sunday XI played Hampton Hill on the upper pitch. The pictures show Pavilion2022 taking shape in the background.

Tennis matches were also taking place so it is a good example of how much the usage of the Rec has changed in recent years.

Simon Vigar of Fernhurst CC said: “We cannot wait for the opening of Pavilion2022. With 11 fixtures, this weekend was a great example of how much Fernhurst Cricket Club has grown in the past decade. We are very grateful to all our fundraisers and to the England Cricket Board for its grant. FCC is having to be its adaptable best this summer but each weekend it is great to witness our new home taking shape. Roll on the season of 2023.”
