About Pavilion2022

During the past seven years the number of people taking part in sports or just keeping fit at the recreation ground has exploded. Some 800 are registered as taking part in the sports on offer. The increase has meant the pavilion is no longer adequate, it needs to be upgraded to meet the expectations of the various sports governing bodies, accommodate the numbers and allow simultaneous events.

Weekends are very busy, every Saturday morning around 100 juniors are coached in cricket or football, parents take part in boot camp session and the tennis club hold a roll up. Coffee and bacon baps are served in the pavilion for those who prefer to watch and to the participants after their exertions. in the afternoon, there is tennis coaching and either a cricket or football match. Sunday mornings during the summer junior league cricket followed by a traditional Sunday XI match.

Throughout the week further coaching and matches take place for stoolball, cricket, tennis and football. It never stops!
